Field Checklist

The bench checklist proves the beacon works; the field checklist proves it works HERE. This page is the field sequence.

The deploy

1Payload current: identity, coordinates (see Config Payload Format)
2Channel scanned and chosen (see Scanning the Band)
3Beacon deployed: antenna up, clear of metal and snow (see Field Deployment)
4Confirmation: walk 100 m, one burst decoded (see Signal Strength Mapping)

The mission checks

The emergency trigger

If the beacon must switch to EMERGENCY mode: confirm identity, confirm coordinates, confirm GPS or enter manual (see Emergency Response Minute by Minute).
